Etsy has just a trove of products that sometimes it’s hard to go through everything.  Today I was bored at work and wanted to create something that my husband would want if he was on the site.  I tried to combine his favorite things.  Can you guess what they are?

Survived My First Craft Show October 18, 2010

Saturday was the first craft show I had ever been a vendor at.  It was an interesting experience.  Much like Etsy, people like to stop, look, compliment you on your items, and then move on to the next shop.  Thanks for stopping by.

Overall the show was slow and the only vendors that did well were the re-sellers.  Apparently these customers were more interested in something mass produced instead of something someone actually made.

Most people noted that they too had made a quilt in their lifetime, they sew, or asked me how long I had been sewing.  You should have seen the looks on their faces when I said 10 years.

For my first show it was a great learning experience and the push I needed to get my Etsy shop where I want it to be.  Good news considering I have some custom orders to be doing in the next couple of weeks.

Many More Potholders September 2, 2010

Last weekend I spent time getting over 30 sets of potholders sewed, cut, pressed and ready to be finalized.  Lots going on this week to keep me from finishing this and my other projects.  That craft show on October 16th is slowly creaping up on me.

100 Posts…A Reflection August 26, 2010

The number is finally here and I feel like it took forever.  This has been a very rewarding process.  In addition to writing on my blog, I have been fascinated with  There is so much inspiration for creativity on there.  Thank you everyone for sharing.

Where do I go from here?

First and foremost…I am not buying any fabric during the month of September.  I have bought enough recently to start my own store.  Actually I’ve been buying up fabric to work on projects, fill my Etsy store, and have products ready for craft shows.  That’s where this blog has taken me…small business owner.

I love my hobby enough to share with the world and try to do something with it.

Recently, a couple of other bloggers have contacted me about doing a giveaway.  Great, LOVE to!!  When I’m on their site, I’ll make sure to let you know.

I still want this blog to be about the creative process, how I pick fabric, what I choose to do with it, and the final design.  It holds me accountable for getting things done.  Sharing with the world makes me very nervous, but it is rewarding.

There are things that I haven’t done, like continued with my charity quilts.  I have so many custom orders and other ideas, I will get to those in the coming months.

This blog has been and will continue to be my creative outlet.  Hopefully the next 100 posts will not take as long as the first 100.

Project Modern August 20, 2010

Good Friday morning.  We have a winner on Chick’s new collar…Cherry Flower.  She is just so excited she’s passed out on her favorite chair right now from her elation.  Nope, she’s saving up her energy to torment us later.

I saw this announcement this morning and thought I would share.  Wonder what the challenge will be?  Like I don’t have enough on my plate already.
